Saturday morning<\/b><\/span> : Canoe-rafting on the Middle Verdon<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Meet at 9:30 AM<\/b> at our \u00abAdventure Forest\u00bb base (See access map<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Welcome of participants by ABOARD Rafting guides, followed by the distribution of equipment and a briefing for a descent of the Verdon in cano-raft, from \u00abAdventure Forest\u00bb to the Pin\u00e8de beach, approximately 8 km<\/b> and 1h30<\/b> navigation.<\/p>\n

This descent is gradual, with an initial section where we navigate easy rapids (Class II, See the classification of rapids<\/a>); it allows for an introduction to handling this two-person boat.<\/p>\n

The next section is more eventful until we reach the famous St. Jean Bar, a Grade III (medium difficulty rapid), the highlight of this descent.<\/p>\n

We stop above this rapid to observe it from the bank. With the guide, we discuss the different possible routes. The guide goes first to wait for us at the bottom of the rapid, and then it's our turn to set off.<\/p>\n

Depending on the route taken, this rapid is more or less difficult, but it is, in any case, the place to put into practice what we have learned during the descent.<\/p>\n

Once all the crews have passed Saint Jean\u2019s Bar, we continue our descent to reach the finish on Pin\u00e8de beach, from where we return to our base \u00abAdventure Forest\u00bb by bus.<\/p>\n

Saturday afternoon<\/span> : White water rafting on the Verdon<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Meet at 2:00 PM<\/b>\u00a0at our \u00abAdventure Forest\u00bb base (SEE ACCESS PLAN<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Welcome of participants by ABOARD Rafting guides, followed by equipment handover and briefing for a descent of the\u00a0Verdon<\/strong>\u00a0By raft, from the Pin\u00e8de beach to the Samson corridor (around\u00a014 km and 2.5 hours<\/b>\u00a0of navigation).<\/p>\n

The first part is easy; it allows you to get to grips with handling the raft.<\/p>\n

Then we navigate small rapids (class II), finally entering the gorge entrance.\u00a0Verdon<\/strong>. The isolation of the gorges allows you to fully enjoy nature; all around us loom vertiginous cliffs that are reflected in the emerald water of the\u00a0Verdon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Between the rapids, we'll have ample opportunity to admire the work of erosion on these impressive limestone cliffs.<\/p>\n

Medium difficulty (Class III) rapids follow one another, leading us to the Couloir Samson. The Solitaire rapid (Class III) will mark the end of this descent.See the classification of rapids<\/a>The culmination of this descent.<\/p>\n

All that will be left is for us to climb back up to the Samson corridor lookout with our equipment, taking the Martel path for about ten minutes, to find the bus that will take us back to La Pin\u00e8de.<\/p>\n

Sunday morning<\/b><\/span> : Canyoning in the Jabron<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Meet at 9:30 AM<\/b> At Batie, near the Jabron canyoning site (allow 15 minutes by car from Castellane), See access map<\/a><\/p>\n

Welcome of participants by canyoning guides and equipment handover.
\nThe activity begins with an introduction to abseiling techniques by the guide.<\/p>\n

We then enter the Jabron canyon, first walking in its bed. Next, we descend into the canyon by a 5m spiderweb abseil.<\/p>\n

We then progress to the heart of the canyon where pools and slides follow one another. After the \u00abCanonni\u00e8re\u00bb slide, we arrive in a large pool where different jumps are possible for those who wish. Then, after a passage through a squeeze and a final pool, we reach the end of the canyon. A short walk will bring us back to the starting point.<\/p>\n

The jumps and slides are not compulsory and can be rappelled down.<\/p>\n

The Jabron is a short but spectacular canyon that allows for the discovery of all aspects of the activity.<\/p>\n

We reach the edge of the Verdon by a short walk (5 mins). The guides will then give you instructions on how to progress through the gorges. We enter the water, and then let ourselves be carried by the current, floating and swimming. We only get out of the water to bypass an obstacle (a rapid, obstructed or shallow).<\/p>\n

We are thus committed between the impressive walls of Samson's Corridor. Enormous boulders, which simply need to be climbed, allow for (optional) jumps into the clear water of the Verdon.<\/p>\n

We arrive at the immense vault of the Baume aux Pigeons, where we will pause to enjoy the magnificent landscape before us. A few surprises await us in a true maze of tormented rock formations, named the Labyrinths.<\/p>\n

After other jumps (not mandatory) and some stretches of white water, we will reach the end of the Samson gorge. Finally, we will climb the bank to reach the Martel path, which we will take for the return journey. We will then have to cross the tunnels, the story of which we will tell you.<\/p>\n

We reach the Samson Corridor viewpoint after about a 20-minute walk.<\/p>\n

Return by mini-bus to Castellane.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Saturday whitewater programme we offer at the entrance to the Verdon Gorge, departing from Carajuan, includes a canoe-rafting descent in the morning, followed by a canyoning descent in the afternoon, to fully enjoy the Verdon canyon.<\/p>\n

The next day, we suggest you discover canyoning in the Jabron, a short but scenic canyon located near Castellane.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
