Embark on an inflatable canoe for two and tame the rapids of the Verdon!

Rafting in the Gorges du Verdon - Aboard Rafting

Canoe-rafting in the Verdon

The ideal craft for paddle adventurers!

A two-person inflatable craft, the cano-raft is navigated independently with a double-bladed paddle by its two occupants. The inflatable structure of the cano-raft and its self-bailing bottom allow for novices, accompanied by a guide ensuring their safety, to tackle whitewater without technical skill.

The crew, consisting of 2 participants, manoeuvres the boat to follow the trajectory indicated by the guide who accompanies them in his own craft.

The safety instructions given by the guide before departure help to anticipate any fall into the water. In the event of capsizing, simply climb back into the inflatable canoe, and you're off again!

When to go canorafting in the Verdon Gorge?
From April to October

The flow of the Middle Verdon is regulated by water releases from the EDF dam.

In spring (April to June), Water releases from the Castillon dam regularly take place, allowing for navigation downstream of Castellane. Should there be no water release at this time, we suggest navigating upstream of the dam on the upper Verdon (in the Fontgaillarde gorges), a section of the river fed by snowmelt in the spring. These routes are located approximately 30 minutes from Castellane.

In summer (July and August), water releases on the middle Verdon are only scheduled on certain days (On Tuesdays and Fridays usuallyand allow navigation on this section. However, the upper Verdon routes are not navigable in summer due to insufficient natural flow.

In autumn (from mid-September), the water release frequency is regular again and allows navigation on the middle Verdon.
