Description
Discover the Fontgaillarde gorges by inflatable kayak
Procedure
of the activity
Meet at 10h at the Adrech campsite, 6 km from St-André-les-Alpes and 30 mins from Castellane (See access map)
Welcome of participants by the guides of ABOARD Rafting, followed by the distribution of equipment and a briefing for a descent of the Haut-Verdon in air-boat, from the Pont Clos to the Pont d'Allons (approximately 10 km and 2 hours of navigation).
The guides will first go over the basic technical handling of this single-person craft with you and will accompany you in kayaks to point out the best routes.
From the outset, we will navigate the Fontgaillarde Gorges. The landscape is very wild in this high valley; the river is channelled for the most part of the descent into the Fontgaillarde gorges. Beautiful waterfalls cascade directly into the Verdon.
The river has a constant current, with rapids (class II, III)See the classification of rapids) continuously. Bouncing turns on the cliffs follow one another until the exit of the gorges.
The end of the journey is marked by the end of the gorge, where we find our vehicles.
